STUDENT LANTERN DESIGN CONTEST
Each year, children ages 8–14 are invited to submit original artwork inspired by the Festival’s annual theme. Winning designs are handcrafted into full-size illuminated lanterns and displayed during the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival. At the conclusion of the Festival, the winning students receive their lanterns to take home as a lasting reminder of their creativity.
Thank you to all of the talented young artists who entered the 2026 Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival Student Design Contest.
This year’s selected designs were transformed into illuminated lanterns by the skilled artisans of Tianyu Arts & Culture and are on display throughout the Philadelphia Chinese Lantern Festival in Franklin Square.
